I'm obsessed with systems thinking.
I grew up playing strategy games.
I liked figuring out how individual decisions affected everything else, allocating limited resources and continuously improving the system.
That way of thinking never really left.
It's probably why I'm drawn to startups and venture capital.
I like breaking businesses down into their component parts, understanding what drives growth, finding bottlenecks and figuring out what can be improved.
I write about venture capital, startups and building companies.
Scaling Insights is where I document what I'm learning from scouting, working with founders and studying companies.
I believe good businesses are built through systems, iteration and continuous improvement.
This publication is an extension of that.
